After landing her dream job in a marketing firm, Emily Cooper, a true Chicago dweller, finds herself in Paris excited about the new adventures she is yet to encounter. Her dream of a magical time in Paris is shattered as soon as she starts her work, toiling under her new terrifying boss, Sylvie, and her unfriendly coworkers. Emily’s inability to speak French becomes a faux pas for her, prompting Sylvie to mistreat her even more. But Emily isn’t one to give up. In her classic American style, she pulls out all the stops to bring an American flair to the Parisian lifestyle.
