The Devil All the Time Plot

Set in rural southern Ohio and West Virginia, The Devil of All The Time follows a complex story of compelling characters from the end of World War II to the 1960s. The movie introduces Willard Russell who returns home from war carrying heavy PTSD. Willard's son Arvin is nine when his mother is sick. Arvin is tormented by themes like death, rituals, violence, sacrifice, and faith in the first part of the film. The movie later spirals out to introduce multiple bizarre characters who are connected to the Russell family. As the movie progresses, connections and relationships between these fundamentally different yet similar characters develop and their paths intertwine. When Arvin grows up, he struggles to fight his violent tendencies while trying to protect his half-sister Lenora whose mother was murdered.
