Dangal is a biography on the Phogat sisters and their struggle to shine brightly in the world of wrestling. Mahavir Singh Phogat was a promising wrestler in his time, but he has to give up on the sport to support his family financially. He dreamt of training his own sons in wrestling. As a matter of sheer destiny, four daughters were born to Mahavir consecutively. The story proceeds and Mahavir realizes that daughters are no lesser than sons and he can train his daughters to become successful wrestlers in future. Thereafter, he starts training his first two daughters, Geeta and Babita. What follows is the ultimate struggle of the father and the daughters to make their own mark in the field of wrestling.
