An orphan, Harry Potter lives with his mother’s sister and her mean family–The Dursleys. On his eleventh birthday, he receives a surprise invitation to join Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hagrid, the giant comes from Hogwarts to pick up Harry and they board the train to Hogwarts from Platform no. 9 ¾ from King’s Cross Station. At Hogwarts, there is magic everywhere & Harry learns that he is also a wizard. He is a famous student due to the curse mark on his forehead, which he got in a horrific accident during childhood. Baffled by all that going around, he decides to uncover the truth behind the things and delve deeper, only to find himself in troubled situations one after the other. Along the course, he gathers a troop of great friends, Ron & Hermione who become a great team in every quest at Hogwarts.
He realises his love of playing Quidditch (a sport played by flying brooms) and becomes the youngest seeker in history. His school, though is a strange place. It is guarding something that one of the teachers wants. What more? One of the teachers is a host to dark magic. Harry finds himself in troubled situations one after another while he faces powerful and dark enemies waiting for a chance to drag him down or even worse, kill him!
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
Harry Potter receives a warning not to continue his second year at Hogwarts by Dobby, a house elf. Despite the warning, he goes for the second year at Hogwarts. Not able to board the train on platform 9¾ with Ron, they reach the school in Ron’s legendary flying car. There are rumours that something suspicious is going down at Hogwarts this year. Harry begins to hear voices from the walls and realizes that he can talk to snakes. The atmosphere gets intense with a series of vicious attacks on Hogwarts’ students & the whole fraternity is petrified. Hogwarts is at the threat of-of closing down and the reason for all this lies in the mysterious depths of the Chamber of Secrets. When Ron’s sister, Ginny, is taken down the Chamber, Harry uncovers the truth and attempts to kill what is living in the pipes.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)
Harry starts his third year with quite a ruckus as he inflates a distance relative when she speaks ill about his parents. He is warned against using magic in the Muggle world by the ministry of magic. The fear of getting suspended from the wizarding world looms on him as he has violated a serious law. Harry learns about Sirius Black, a mass murderer, Harry’s Godfather who is responsible for his parents’ death. Sirius has fled the prison of Azkaban and is on the lookout for Harry.
Meanwhile, Harry is haunted by dementors who suck away happiness out of people. He learns new spells to fight against Dementors with the help of the new Defense Against Dark Arts teacher (another friend of Harry’s father). Dementors are on a lookout for Sirius Black, floating all around the vicinity of the school to intercept Sirius Black. Harry still has to uncover the truth of his parents’ murder at the hand of their best friend.
In Harry’s fourth year at school, Hogwarts is the host of the Triwizard tournament held between three prestigious wizardry schools. Only wizards and witches above the age of 17 can put their names in the Goblet of Fire. The Goblet of Fire announces Harry (aged 14) as one of the champions even though he did not put his name in it! Now he has to compete in the upcoming games against three other worthy champions. Harry struggles to find peace between unwanted media attention, broken friendships & everybody’s gawking stare. Potter deals with the power struggle during the tournament and somehow survives whatsoever. All this while, there is someone eagerly waiting for just the right moment to give him a taste of death. The movie witnesses the arrival of the Dark Lord – Lord Voldemort, or as everyone in the wizarding world refers to him as He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
Harry remains disturbed during the break after the horrific events at the Triwizard Tournament in the previous year. He is also being chased and attacked by dementors, who serve Lord Voldemort.
He becomes devastated when he gets back at Hogwarts and finds out that everything has changed at Hogwarts. He gets burdened by death threats and is constantly reminded that Voldemort is on the lookout for him. He has visions manipulated by Lord Voldemort that makes him see through Voldemort’s point of view. The struggle becomes harder when Dolores Umbridge is stated as Hogwarts High Inquisitor. She is a strict and over-disciplined woman and tries to change everything she dislikes about Hogwarts. She sticks to teaching theory despite dark arts on the rise and when Harry questions her, she denies any arrival of Lord Voldemort & punishes him for spreading lies.
Meanwhile, Dumbledore forms the Order of Phoenix to fight Lord Voldemort. At this point, Harry and his friends begin a secret cult, “Dumbledore’s Army” to learn how to fight against Dark Arts. Baffled by recent happenings, Harry takes drastic measure to set everything on the right track.
Harry is determined to hunt down Voldemort, who has taken everything he has loved. On the other side, Lord Voldemort and his supporters known as Death Eaters create havoc in the Wizard as well as Muggle World. Harry Potter hasn’t yet learned to close down the connection that he has with Lord Voldemort despite several warnings from friends and their families. Dumbledore takes private lessons with Harry to give him insights about the past of the Dark Lord. Dumbledore tags Harry along on a few dangerous missions to find and destroy something essential to Voldemort, the Horcrux. Pieces of Voldemort’s soul scattered through in the world.
Meanwhile, Potter gets his hands on a potion book belonging to ‘Half-Blood Prince’. The book improves his potions skills drastically and teaches him some new (and illegal) spells.
All these help Harry know more about the past and this knowledge will help him in the upcoming inevitable battle against Lord Voldemort.
Harry is about to turn 17, which breaks the charm that his mother put over him. This means that Voldemort can take on Harry and the Order of Pheonix goes wide lengths to protect Harry and bring him safely to The Burrow (Ron’s house).
Harry confides in with Ron and Hermione about all that he has learnt from Dumbledore until now. The trio flees from Hogwarts on a mission to find and destroy Horcruxes, with an aim to bring down Voldemort. This quest takes Harry on a journey from the Gringotts bank back to Hogwarts.
The recent upturn of history brings Lord Voldemort in full power. Voldemort had established his supremacy over the Wizard world. Anybody who proves allegiance to Harry or goes against his will has to pay the price.
Potter faces a tough time on his mission and feels that they are powerless against Voldemort. However, in the middle of chaos, he gets intrigued by the legend of ‘Deathly Hallows’, which can give him the power to fight Voldemort.
The decisive moment has arrived for Harry, ‘The boy that lived’ or ‘The Chosen One’ has to be true to his name and defeat Voldemort at any cost.
It’s an almost suicide mission but he is not alone and moves forward with the support of each and every soul at Hogwarts.
Hogwarts swarms with dementors and enemy forces trying to destroy vicinity and kill Harry. Potter gets a vision of his past and now knows everything about his life and why he lived. He now knows what to do next in order to defeat Voldemort and he will do it at any cost involved to save his loved ones.
From changing loyalties to unsaid love, a lot of secrets surface in this epic saga, and what follows is the unfolding of love, friendship and magic.
